Troy man wanted for rape arrested in Montgomery | Crime

On January 30th, Troy Police arrested Darnell Patterson on a grand jury indictment for rape first degree that occurred in April 2009, according to information released by Chief Jimmy Ennis. Patterson was arrested at the Montgomery County Jail and transported to the Troy City Jail where he was booked and processed without incident.
Patterson and the victim in this crime were acquaintances when the crime occurred between 7:30 and 8:30 am on April 28, 2009 on the 200 block of Washington St. in Troy. Police were advised that Patterson purchased a bus ticket and left for New York at approximately 5:30 pm that same day.
A warrant for Patterson’s arrest was obtained on the April 29 for rape first degree. Patterson was entered into the National Crime Information Center computer for his arrest for rape first degree nationwide. His bond on the warrant in Troy is $10,000.00.
TPD later learned he was incarcerated in the New York City Department of Corrections on felony charges. His information was still active in the NICIC computer as wanted and there was a nationwide extradition on him. He was also wanted in Indiana and Montgomery, Alabama for felony charges.
Patterson was transferred to the Pike County Jail where he is also being held on charges in Indiana.
