Goshen man arrested after trying to stab a woman with a screwdriver during a robbery | Crime
Troy Police arrested 45-year-old Eric Dewayne Hunter, a black male from Goshen, for robbery first degree Monday (11/19) at approximately 2:45 pm according to information released by Chief Jimmy Ennis.
Hunter was arrested in connection with the Sunday (11/3) afternoon armed robbery of a female at the B.P. Gas Station on US 231 South at approximately 6:30 p.m.
A subsequent investigation led to Hunter’s arrest at the Troy Police Department Monday after TPD Detectives obtained an arrest warrant.
The victim and her daughter were passing through Troy on their way home to Florida, when they stopped at the Gas Station for a break. The two women went into the rest room together, at which time Hunter allegedly snatched the door open and confronted the victims. Hunter grabbed for the victim’s (mother’s) purse. The victim resisted Hunter, at which time he pulled a screwdriver out and attempted to stab the victim. Hunter got into an older model Dodge pick-up truck and fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel without gaining any property.
Hunter’s bond was set at $50,000.00 and was processed, then transferred to the Pike County Jail.
This case remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
