Alabama State Trooper celebrates 95th birthday | News
TROY, AL (WSFA)- Community members in Pike County gathered Friday to surprise Alabama State Trooper Curly Long for his 95th Birthday!
Trooper Long is the oldest State Trooper in Alabama. He served from 1952 through 1974.
Long received plaques from the Troy Police Department and the Alabama State Troopers to mark the occasion.
"I always make sure to say hello and let him know how much I appreciate him," says Sergeant Tommy Merritt.
Long patrolled Pike County and retired from the department at age 56.
