In-house search for next Troy police chief

TROY, AL (WSFA) - The search for the next chief of police for the city of Troy is turning inward. The city says two captains are being considered for the position.

Capt. Jimmy Ennis and Capt. Randall Barr are set to interview for the spot on June 28.

The city says if it can't select a chief after Ennis and Barr interview, they'll make a decision to extend the search.

A decision is expected in the jobhunt by the council's July 12 meeting.

The position is coming open after Chief Anthony Everage announced his intentions to retire. He'll vacate the office effective October 1.
