No. 18 Warhawks outlast North Alabama, 8-6

Shelby Nobles hit his first career home run and Hayden Hillyer added three hits, as the No. 18 Auburn Montgomery baseball team held off NCAA Division II foe North Alabama 8-6 Tuesday at the AUM Baseball Complex.

With the win, the Warhawks improved to 16-9 on the season, while the Lions fell to 11-8 overall.

“This was a good win for us against a quality Division II opponent,” head coach Q.V. Lowe said. “I thought we really fought to pick up runs, but unfortunately gave a few back late in the game. The guys continued fighting and our pitchers kept us in the game. Shelby’s home run was really big for us. They were closing the gap on us and it gave us a little breathing room.
