AUM Women's soccer to host winter camp in February

The Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer program and the Jamey Newsome Soccer Academy will host a two-day Winter Camp on February 16-17, 2013, at the AUM Soccer Complex.

The event is open to girls ages 15 and older and features a specifically designed curriculum that will feature only the best and most effective techniques available. All instruction will be conducted by college coaches who will put you through the paces of a typical college preseason routine. Campers will play with and against current and former AUM Soccer players, who are there to show you what the next level is all about, while giving you the chance to become more familiar with the elite college level. All coaches will be available after each session to answer any questions you may have on a "one-on-one" basis.

The Academy setting will challenge the field players in attacking skills, speed of play, and quick decision making through small-sided, 11 vs. 11 matches.

AUM Men's soccer to host college prep camp in February

The Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer program and the Wulf Koch Soccer Academy will host its annual College Prep Camp, a two-day camp and clinic, on February 2-3, 2013, at the AUM Soccer Stadium.

The event is open to boys ages 15 and up and provides an opportunity to become more familiar with the elite college level. This camp has a specifically designed curriculum and will feature only the best and most effective techniques available. All instruction will be conducted by college coaches, who will put campers through the paces of a typical college pre-season routine.

The camp setting will challenge the field players in attacking skills, speed of play, and quick decision making through small-sided, 11 vs. 11 matches.

Wayne Bolt named Defensive Coordinator at Troy University

A 35-year coaching veteran, Wayne Bolt has been named Troy University’s defensive coordinator, head coach Larry Blakeney announced Wednesday. Bolt returns to Troy following a career that includes stops at Auburn, Clemson, Iowa State and UAB.
 
“Wayne is a premier guy for us,” Blakeney said. “He was the first guy I hired when I got the job at Troy, and he is a darn good football coach. I trust Wayne explicitly and he has played critical roles on some very good coaching staffs at Auburn, Clemson and Iowa State.”
 
“I am looking forward to joining the Trojan Family again,” Bolt said. “My wife Linda and I made a lot of great friends, including Larry Blakeney and (Troy Chancellor) Dr. (Jack) Hawkins, during our first 12 years in Troy.
